Our Christmas Day plans for 2018
This years Christmas day is going to be pretty different for me.
We normally see all of the family and various friends, watch terrible telly and generally have a very Christmassy Christmas.
This year Christmas is cancelled…
…let me explain. My hubby, like many men I know, really doesn’t like Christmas. He finds it stressful (although why he finds it stressful I will never know) and just wants it to be over.
For the last 17 years he’s dutifully put up with me shoving Christmas down his throat because I love Christmas, so this year, I’ve cancelled it for him, he gets a year off, it may be the only year he gets off but I will see how I feel about it once it’s over.
We’re still going to mums on Christmas eve as I don’t think that’s something I could ever not do but, no one is coming to our house on Christmas day, we’re not going anywhere on Christmas day, we’re not buying each other presents, we’re not having Christmas lunch – Oh hell what have I let myself in for.
At first I was a little dubious about this non-christmas but at this moment I’m actually looking forward to it being just the two of us, we’ve only had one Christmas where it was just me and hubby.
So this year we will just chill out, do nothing and go nowhere, who knows it could be nice? We don’t have long to wait to find out anyway.
