How not to train your german shepherd and other life lessons

Hello August

Hello August

Really unique title huh? Well it’s August, over half way through the year, 4 months until December, 3 months until dark nights and cold temperatures take hold. Oooh so dark today!

Today, 1st August 2018 however is my 12th wedding anniversary, 12th, that’s not a joke. Hubby and I were married at 11am on Tuesday 1st August 2006 in Edinburgh. There were 22 people, including us and the whole thing cost £300.

We knew we wanted to get married but didn’t want an enormous wedding, so we opted for simple and something which is very us.

We met in 2001, 17 years ago and have been together ever since. It’s not easy, we’ve had our ups and downs but we’re still here, still together, still love each other (barf, i’m making myself feel ill here).

It’s not often I do soppy and we very rarely actually do anything for our anniversary but it’s a special day for me and one that I will never forget, so to my husband, I love you, you’re an arsehole sometimes but I still love you, you make me laugh, you look after me and most importantly, even though i’m a total fruitcake, you still love me.

Ok, i’m off so I don’t make myself vomit anymore!

See Ya!

  2. Happy anniversary! We spent our 1st wedding anniversary in Budapest so I am hoping to continue a tradition of going somewhere new for ours each year! Love an excuse to celebrate and travel

  3. Happy anniversary! Your wedding sounds lovely – I think something simple would really appeal to me too.

  4. Happy 12th wedding anniversary!!! Holy crap! That’s awesome 🙂 I’m only 5 months in myself 😉 LOL. Love that you guys kept the wedding small and simple – sounds absolutely perfect!

  5. This post was so sugary sweet, awww. How adorable. 🙂 I was having a not that great of a day but reading your happy post, I feel better. Happy anniversary to you and your hubby!

  6. Happy belated anniversary, fruitcake(s)! 😀

My bf and I decided to get married like two years ago but haven’t been arsed to organize anything yet because we don’t want a huge crown of people. Even 22 sounds like a lot to us.
So we’ve been kind of lazy about getting married. I wonder if that’s normal?

  7. Oh wow Iove this post this is so cute! I like the fact you had a simple wedding, I don’t get why people spend so much money on one day! Anniversaries are just another day really and you can do something sweet or romantic on any day of the year, why leave it for just one day?! x
