Growing up in the 80’s

Yes, I was born in the 80’s and spent most of my childhood in them. I have 2 sisters, mum, dad, aunts, uncles and grandparents. We lived on a modern housing estate in Cheshire (not the posh bit). All pretty normal and very 2.4 kids blah blah blah.

When I was growing up, I was lucky enough to have all four of my grandparents. I was luckier still to have one remaining until two years ago.

My husband is even luckier than that, in his mid 40’s he still has grandparents.

This post is being written today as my hubby’s grandad is in hospital and we are just waiting for the phone call to tell us he has passed, it’s not a case of if, it’s when.

For the Love of Charity

Charity shops are some of my favourite places to rummage. Yes you could go to TK Maxx or summer sales and find bargains, but charity shops have bargains all year round.

I’ve been shopping in charity shops since I was a kid. Growing up my mum and dad didn’t have loads of money so we couldn’t always afford new clothes. Mum used to make a lot of clothes for us, and she still does

Weekend Away

Hubby and I had a lovely weekend away. We went to the North East to see my BFF and then stayed in Alnwick in a lovely B&B which was like a mini castle.

We went to the beach, ate ice cream and visited Alnwick Gardens, we didn’t go round the castle but you can get great views of it from around the village.
