How can anyone get bored?

How can anyone get bored?

I don’t quite understand how anyone can get bored. I have so many hobbies it’s quite hard to fit them all in!

Some of my hobbies have changed over the years, there are some I’ve had to stop for one reason and another and some I decided to stop as I just didn’t have the time to dedicate to them.

Here is a list of some of the hobbies I have;

DIY – Yes, to me DIY is a hobby, I love it! Painting and decorating for me is relaxing. I’ve been helping my dad renovate his house for almost 2 years and next week I’m going to decorate my mums sunroom.

Gardening – I love gardening, I love plants I just love being outdoors really. I’m not a fair-weather gardener either, rain, sleet or shine, I will garden.

Make-up – I class this as a hobby because I just love playing with it. I don’t wear that much of it on a day to day basis but I like looking at it, swatching it and generally enjoying it.

Photography – I adore photographs. I enjoy taking them, looking at them, framing them, this is one reason I like Instagram so much – all the photos!

Crafts – Making things is one of the most relaxing things I do. I make all sorts of things from lip-balm to dream-catchers. I can just shut off for a while and do my thing.

Baking – Hmmmmm Cake (said in a Homer Simpson fashion). Who doesn’t love cake? I enjoy the baking part but I also really enjoy making kids birthday cakes, I’ve made a cake for my friends son each year since he was 4 and still do. This years cake was the Harry Potter style dragon pictured in the post.

Shopping – Clothes shopping that is, or craft supply shopping, oh so joyful! I just wish I had a bank balance that would allow more of it.

Cleaning – Yep think of this as a hobby, my love for cleaning is actually slightly disturbing…

Walking – Mainly walking my dogs, but walking none the less. When we go on family holidays we do a lot of walking, Hubby and I also walk although much shorter distances. You get to see things when walking that you will never get to see at any other time.

Running – Well, elliptical machine, running for people with bad knees, love it.

Writing – writing short stories is something I have done for a long time, I never wrote many down but I would write them in my head all the time. I decided last year just to write, hence this blog. I didn’t have a theme or a niche, I just wanted to write whatever was in my head, so here we are.

Reading – I’m including audio-books in this hobby. Books are another world, they take you away from where you are and take you on an adventure. Sci-fi and Fantasy is my favourite genre, pretty much all of my books and audio-books are sci-fi or fantasy.

There are lots of other things I do, watching TV and movies for example, going to work etc, but I wouldn’t call them hobbies, these are all things I enjoy and have done for a long time and will continue to do.

  1. I have a number of hobbies as well, but I still get that bored feeling every now and then. It seems to mostly happen during the winter months when it’s too cold to go outside for long but I’m tired of being in the house. Sure, I have lots of books to read, video games to play, TV to watch and crafts to do, but I still get bored – with a healthy dose of cabin fever mixed in. During the summer it’s a whole other story! I’m too busy squeezing everything in to feel bored.
