31 Days of Blogging

I did it! I blogged every day in May, Hurrah! Pat myself on the back.

I have to admit there were a couple of days where I really didn’t feel like writing anything, but you know, I wrote anyway and it helped me mentally. May was Mental Health Awareness Month in the US and for one week of it in the UK, a week pfft, and I wrote each day as I have mental health to deal with.

I was lucky as a child to be part of an animal loving family. We’ve had so many pets over the years, hamsters, gerbils, fish, dogs, cats, horses, rats, ferrets, chinchillas, horses, even a sheep!

Holly Dog

Let me properly introduce you to Holly, our 3 year old Samoyed cross. 

For all her sweetness and butter wouldn’t melt looks she can be a holy terror. 

We adopted Holly when she was 5 months old, she came from an abusive home and had learnt to make herself very quiet and small so that she wasn’t noticed. She also has anxiety about certain loud noises and being left, we thought we could get her out of these so went about training her as we have out other dogs, eeerrrrr mistake!

I Need Routine

Routines help me to control my anxiety and depression. When I get out of my routine my mental health starts to suffer. I can feel it like a wave washing over me. 

My routine has been all over the place this last week, I can cope with being out of my routine for a few days when I’m on holiday, but when I’m at home, I need the routine.
