Fashion Slump

Do you ever find yourself in a fashion slump?

Well I’m in one. I don’t really do fashion, I do whatever I like and fancy wearing, but, right now I’m finding myself wearing the same things over and over and over again.

This is mainly because I’ve put on some weight recently and some things in my wardrobe just don’t fit. Now because my weight has gone up and down for years I have 2 wardrobes, each time I’ve lost weight I’ve thrown out all the too big clothes and replaced them. Last time I lost weight I didn’t get rid of everything, sensible.

This has left me with 2 wardrobes, one of current things and one with the bigger clothes in. Rather than sort out all of this I’ve just worn the same stuff cause it fits and I don’t have to think about it. I have plenty of clothes which fit, and plenty which don’t, but I’ve become lost in the wardrobe chaos.

So on Friday 16th March, my BFF is coming over and we are going through everything! If it’s too small, it either goes or goes in the other wardrobe and if I don’t like it or it doesn’t suit it goes.

Having help to do this is great. One of my biggest struggles is self worth and body confidence. Having someone there who can say yay or nay is a massive help, of course if i really feel terrible in something then it’ll go no matter what she says. I also trust that my friend will tell me the truth!

So we will go through everything and then make a list of what I actually need to buy. I can sew, so if something can be adjusted, I will adjust it. I don’t need to buy an entirely new wardrobe yet again, plus I really like many of my clothes. I also need to figure out what to wear with what, again my BFF is great at that.

If anyone has any recommendations for good closet apps, do let me know, you know what it’s like when you just have so many lovely things, you just can’t keep track!

I love how condensed your writing is. You don’t waste words. I’m guilty of that sometimes.

Can’t help with the fashion advice I’m afraid but there is something very satisfying about keeping one’s closet in order.

I keep trying to find more autobiographical blogs. Every one seems to be about travel or beauty or DIY or something. It really surprises me. There aren’t even any fiction blogs. There must be more out there. I know there are, I just don’t know where to find them.
